First Steps Pediatrics is a membership-based concierge pediatric practice in Tribeca, New York City, providing personalized, relationship-based care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.

Founded by triple board-certified pediatrician Dr. Nilay Donmez, First Steps was created for families who want more time with their pediatrician, easier access when questions arise, and continuity with a physician who truly knows their child.

Concierge pediatrics is designed around the relationship between your family and your pediatrician.

At First Steps Pediatrics, membership allows us to maintain a smaller patient community and provide a level of accessibility and continuity that is difficult to achieve in a traditional high-volume practice.

Direct access to your pediatric care team

Longer, unhurried appointments

Ongoing support between visits

Care coordination with specialists and other healthcare professionals

Parent coaching and anticipatory guidance

Remote examinations using an at-home examination device

Same-day or expedited appointments when appropriate

In-Network Concierge Pediatrics

Concierge care doesn't necessarily mean giving up your health insurance.

First Steps Pediatrics is in-network with most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Oxford, and many Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem plans.

Covered medical services are billed through your insurance.

Your membership covers the enhanced, non-covered services that make the First Steps model possible, including direct access, extended visits, care coordination, parent coaching, remote examination capabilities, and ongoing support between appointments.

Pediatric House Calls in NYC

First Steps families can also access pediatric house calls throughout Manhattan and select Brooklyn neighborhoods as an optional service.

House calls can be especially valuable during the newborn period, when leaving home with a brand-new baby can feel like an expedition.

Concierge Newborn Care

Our relationship with many families begins before their baby is born.

Expecting members receive a complimentary prenatal education session designed to prepare families for the first days and weeks of newborn life.

After delivery, we provide personalized newborn care with close attention to feeding, weight, jaundice, sleep, development, and the many questions that arise during this transition.

Care Coordination

When your child needs a specialist, imaging, laboratory testing, emergency care, or another service, you shouldn't have to navigate the healthcare system entirely on your own.

We help coordinate care, communicate with specialists when appropriate, and maintain a clear understanding of the bigger picture of your child's health.

Serving Tribeca and Downtown Manhattan

Our pediatric office is located at 54 Warren Street in Tribeca, convenient to families throughout Tribeca, SoHo, West Village, Greenwich Village, Battery Park City, Financial District, Seaport, NoHo, Nolita, and surrounding Downtown Manhattan neighborhoods.

House calls allow us to extend care to families throughout Manhattan and select areas of Brooklyn.
