Our home visits are provided by Dr. Nilay Donmez, a triple board-certified pediatrician and founder of First Steps Pediatrics in Tribeca.

Newborn House Calls

The first days after bringing a baby home can be overwhelming.

Newborn house calls allow families to receive pediatric support without immediately navigating elevators, car seats, taxis, waiting rooms, or crowded city streets with a brand-new baby.

Depending on your baby's needs, a newborn visit may include evaluation of:

Weight and growth

Feeding and milk intake

Breastfeeding or formula feeding

Jaundice

Hydration

Newborn skin and rashes

House calls may also be available for illnesses and other pediatric concerns when an at-home evaluation is appropriate.

If your child's symptoms require testing, imaging, emergency evaluation, or another level of care, we will help guide you to the appropriate next step and coordinate care when needed.

Remote Pediatric Examinations Between Visits

Not every concern requires an in-person house call.

First Steps members also have access to an at-home remote examination device, which can allow Dr. Donmez to remotely evaluate certain findings beyond what can typically be assessed through an ordinary video call.

Combined with direct communication and continuity of care, this gives families another way to access their pediatrician when questions arise.
